Fifth anniversary of international freemasonry in Barcelona: la R.·. L.·. nº1 “LLum i Verdad”.
On 14 April 2018, five years ago, it was constituted in Barcelona the Lodge Llum i Verdad or, as said in Masonic terms, the lighting of this Lodge was carried out. The differential feature of our lodge within the current Masonic panorama of the city is that it is a mixed lodge, a feature that it shares with other lodges of different obediences of the so-called liberal Freemasonry, but that is singled out for belonging to an obedience that has internationalism as a distinctive feature, the Confédération Internationale de Loges Écossaises (International Confederation of Scottish Lodges).
The R.·. L.·. Llum i Verdad considers itself heir and continuator of the R.•. L.•. Francesc Ferrer i Guardia, created at the end of the 70s within the Spanish Federation of the O.·. M.·. M.·. I.·. Le Droit Humain. The distinctive title of the lodge “Francisco Ferrer y Guardia” was in homage to the pedagogue, freethinker, and freemason of the second half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, who by his actions and determination inspired the founding members of the lodge.
The R.·. L.·. Francesc Ferrer i Guardia developed an intense Masonic activity in Barcelona in two stages. A first period until the mid-80s; later the lodge closed its doors until 2004, when it resumed its activity. Unfortunately, again the insurmountable disagreements with the leaders of the Spanish Federation of the O.·. M.·. M.·. I.·. Le Droit Humain caused its dissolution for the second time.
But the determination of BB.•. and SrSr.•. of the Lodge managed to ensure the continuity of the work until it was reborn under a new distinctive title “Llum i Verdad”, on 14 April 2018, the date on which this new workshop turned on its lights, again under the umbrella of the Spanish Federation of the O.•. M.•. M.•. I.•. Le Droit Humain. But as happened before, the internal problems within the Spanish Federation of the O.•. M.•. M.•. I.•. Le Droit Humain provoked that, in the 2020-2021 Masonic course, the Brothers and Sisters of the lodge decided to abandon this Order to join the project of the creation of a new Masonic structure, the Confédération Internationale de Loges Écossaises (International Confederation of Scottish Lodges).together with the R.•. L.•. “El Trabayu” in the Orient of Gijón, the R.•. L.•. “Lumière du Coeur” in the Orient of Mulhouse and the Sovereign Chapter “The Secret and the Rose”. Llum i Verdad has celebrated its fifth anniversary with the visit of different BB.•. and SrSr.•. and it is today in full activity and growth, maintaining its distinctive features: secularism, mixticity and internationalism, which is known both for the varied origin and for the cultural diversity of its members.
